The Dauntless' phony Starfleet designation is NX-01-A. The original NX-01 was Starfleet's first Warp 5 ship, commanded by Captain Jonathan Archer in Star Trek: Enterprise. It seems odd that none of the Voyager crew would question this designation. Even if this designation had never previously been used, it doesn't make sense to commission the NX-01-A two centuries after the NX-01, and certainly not by a different name. It should be noted however, that this was not an error on the writers part. At the time of the production of this episode, the Star Trek: Enterprise episode had not aired. Therefor the error occured because of the production of subsequent Star Trek.
