B'Elanna states that this experience was real to her, but we are left wondering whether it actually was, since Miral states at the end that B'Elanna might see her when she gets home. At the end of the series though, when B'Elanna talks to her father, he acts as if Miral has indeed died, indicating that B'Elanna's experience was real.
