Zio wanted Kim to kill Paris because he was a burden and drain on their supplies. He told Kim that in order to survive, he would have to become a killer.
	PLAYED BY: Robert Pine SPECIES: Akritirian Male When Captain Kathryn Janeway presented evidence that her officers were innocent, Liria refused to release the two crewmmebers, explaining that there was no appeal process on his planet and a court decision could not be overturned.
	PLAYED BY: Beans Morocco SPECIES: Akritirian Male He was an inmate of an Akritirian prison that was located on a large isolated satellite.
	PLAYED BY: James Parks SPECIES: Akritirian Male At first Vel was uncooperative with Janeway when she asked for the location of the Akritirian maximum security detention facility. However in order to save his sister Piri from prison, Vel led Voyager to the prison where Paris and Kim were held; Janeway then let Vel and his sister go without informing Akritiri authorities.
	PLAYED BY: Ed Trotta SPECIES: Akritirian Male When Pit saw Kim, he tried to claim him, but Paris intervened. In the ensuing fight, Paris was able to stop Pit, but was stabbed by him in the process.
	PLAYED BY: Rosemary Morgan SPECIES: Akritirian Female Captain Janeway captured Piri and her brother in the course of investigating the bombing; despite their confessing to being involved in the bombing, Akritirian law did not provide for the admissibility of any new evidence after conviction and did not release Paris and Kim. In exchange for her brother Vel providing Janeway the location and shield codes of the prison so the two Starfleet officers could be retrieved, Piri and Vel were released without being reported to the authorities.
