PLAYED BY: Erica Lynne Bryan
SPECIES: Human Female

In 2353, they took Annika, then aged four, along with them. They spent a good deal of time aboard the Raven in search of the Borg; Annika celebrated three birthdays aboard the ship. Eventually, the Hansens encountered a Borg cube and followed it through its transwarp conduit into the Delta Quadrant, the Borg's region of origin. They gathered a great deal of scientific data on the biology of Borg drones and the nature of the Collective by moving undetected through Borg space due to multi-adaptive shielding, invented by Magnus Hansen. They even went aboard Borg vessels, using bio-dampeners to remain undetected. However, their research came to an abrupt end in 2356 when an ion storm struck the Raven. The ship sustained damage, including, most importantly, damage to the multi-adaptive shielding, which went off-line for 13.2 seconds. This left them exposed long enough for the Borg to detect them and perceive them as a target for assimilation.

PLAYED BY: Mickey Cottrell
SPECIES: B'omar Male

Councilor Dumah was a representative of the B'omar Sovereignty. He led the negotiations with the crew of the USS Voyager to discuss passage through B'omar space. The B'omar were very xenophobic, and Dumah laid down many restrictions on Voyager – they could not exceed warp 3, they had to avoid the planets and colonies of the B'omar, and they had to stop for numerous inspections.

PLAYED BY: Nikki Tyler
SPECIES: Human Female

Erin Hansen petitioned the Federation Council on Exobiology to support them on an independent research mission to study the Borg. The Council agreed, providing them with a vessel, the USS Raven, despite security concerns expressed by Starfleet.

PLAYED BY: Richard J. Zobel, Jr.
SPECIES: B'omar Male

The B'omar were a xenophobic race and laid out many restrictions for the passage. Gauman and Dumah ended the negotiations when Seven entered their territory without permission to look for the ship that she and her parents were on before they were assimilated.

PLAYED BY: David Anthony Marshall
SPECIES: Human Male

Magnus Hansen was a Human exobiologist and the father of the Human female who became Seven of Nine. He and his wife Erin Hansen were the first Humans to closely study the Borg.
