	PLAYED BY: Dakin Matthews SPECIES: Human Male In 2371, he was the first to welcome Captain Kathryn Janeway aboard her new command, USS Voyager while its construction was being completed at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. He was a mentor-figure for Janeway, surprising her with a short pop quiz when she beamed aboard before hugging her and calling her "Katy." He gave her the first tour of the ship, including the Bridge, Engineering and Sickbay.
	PLAYED BY: Jay Karnes SPECIES: Human Male Lieutenant Ducane was a 29th century Starfleet officer serving aboard the timeship Relativity under Captain Braxton. In that capacity, he helped recruit Seven of Nine from the year 2375, assigning her a mission of identifying the individual responsible for placing a temporal disruptor aboard the USS Voyager, resulting in the ship's destruction. Later, when it was discovered that the saboteur was, in fact, a future version of Captain Braxton, he had Braxton arrested and took control of the mission. He then recruited Captain Janeway, as Seven would begin to suffer deleterious effects to her health if she were to make another time jump. Ducane sent Janeway back to 2372, where Braxton initially planted the disruptor, allowing Janeway to change history by preventing Braxton from completing his mission. Ducane then sent both Janeway and Seven back to their proper place and time, warning them not to discuss their experiences with anyone, in accordance with the Temporal Prime Directive.
