Brax, together with his mother got the grand tour of Voyager. They visited the bridge were he was introduced to Ensign Harry Kim and the rest of the bridge crew. There Brax learned that Neelix did not have his own workstation because of the many duties he performed. When they arrived in astrometrics, Neelix showed them an image of Talax.

While they were en route to main engineering, they were interrupted by Naomi Wildman. She asked if Brax could go with her to the holodeck and time to play kadis-kot with her. Brax never heard of a holodeck and was anxious to try it out. Together with Naomi they ran Tom Paris' holoprogram Invaders from the Ninth Dimension.

Afterward in the mess hall, Naomi told Brax about the transporter accident in which Neelix and Tuvok were combined into a whole different person, Tuvix. When Neelix entered Brax asked if Neelix would play a game of kadis-kot with him and Naomi, but Neelix told him "Maybe later". When Neelix finished talking to Brax's mother, Brax had to go with her to return to their asteroid..

PLAYED BY: Julianne Christie
SPECIES: Talaxian Female

A shuttle carrying Neelix crashed due to an explosion. Dexa tended to Neelix's injuries and explained that the explosion was caused by a group of miners who wanted the Talaxians to leave their new home. Dexa was, at first, wary of Neelix, wondering why he lived with aliens, so she kept him locked behind a force field. Dexa brought the Talaxian council regent Oxilon to meet Neelix, and he was set free. Dexa told him about the Talaxians who lived inside the asteroid, which they developed using technology from their disassembled ships. Dexa also informed him that they were being threatened by miners who wished them to leave so they could have the mineral resources of the asteroid. Before Neelix left, he discovered that Dexa's son, Brax, had stowed away on the Delta Flyer. When he returned the boy to Dexa he found her in a confrontation with the miners. Nocona, head of the miners, ordered the Talaxians to evacuate the asteroid so it could be demolished. Dexa stood up to the miners and they pushed her aside. Neelix defended her and her son, forcing the miners to leave temporarily. Dexa wanted to defend her home, and finally persuaded the council to accept Neelix's and USS Voyager's help. Dexa accompanied Neelix to Voyager to discuss the situation with Captain Janeway. Dexa and Neelix became romantically involved and while working on preparations for their defense, engaged in a passionate kiss. With the assistance of Neelix, the Talaxian settlers were able to resist the miners and save their home.

Neelix, having fallen in love with Dexa, elected to stay behind with her while Voyager continued towards Earth.

PLAYED BY: John K. Shull
SPECIES: n/a

He was launching thermolyte explosives into the field to shatter open the asteroids. At the same time, the Delta Flyer was passing through, and got knocked to the asteroid the Talaxians lived in. He was later hailed by the USS Voyager, and told them that he wasn't aware their away team had entered the field, and that they should have asked permission. After Voyager assured him they didn't want the resources from the field, he let their crewmen return.

Aboard the asteroid, he gave a final deadline for the Talaxians to leave, as he'd been warning them for years, as their asteroid held more than 30% of the ore. After a confrontation on the asteroid, ending in Neelix sending them away at phaser-point, they negotiated for more time aboard Voyager. Later when the Talaxians tried to install shield generators into their asteroid, to protect from Commander Nocona's ship, he attacked the Baxial, the Talaxian fighter, and later the Delta Flyer. They were successful in placing the field, so Nocona went off to mine other asteroids, leaving the Talaxians alone.

PLAYED BY: Rob LaBelle
SPECIES: Talaxian Male

A group of miners wanted the Talaxians to leave their new home. Neelix, who had crashed on their asteroid, suggested that they should resist the miners, but Oxilon was at first reluctant to take a stand, worrying that it would make things worse. Neelix took him aboard USS Voyager, and Kathryn Janeway offered to mediate the dispute. Oxilon agreed to the mediation. After the failed negotiation, Janeway agreed to transport the homesteaders and their supplies to the nearest M-class planet, an offer Oxilon accepted – wishing to avoid a conflict at all costs.

Neelix and Dexa, a female Talaxian that had nursed Neelix back to health after the crash, persuaded Oxilon to resist the miners, pointing out that the Talaxians might only be displaced again and that it was time to take a stand. Although at first he was worried that people would be hurt, Oxilon decided that his people would resist. Oxilon piloted a ship that implanted force field emitters to protect the asteroid from the miners. With the assistance of Neelix and the crew of the USS Voyager, the Talaxian settlers were able to activate the force field, forcing the miners to leave. Neelix elected to stay behind with the Talaxians while Voyager continued on to the Alpha Quadrant.
