SPECIES: Vulcan Male
Tuvok told the master that he was sent there against his will,
for refusing to deny himself passion and feelings he was born
with. The master said that he would teach control to Tuvok, who
was in love with a schoolmate, which was one of the reasons his
parents sent him to the master. The master taught him that love
was the most dangerous of emotions, leading to jealousy, grief,
and rage. It was through his teachings that Tuvok embraced
logic.

SPECIES: Vulcan Male
As a teenager, he rebelled against the Vulcan ideal of logic and
reasoning when he fell in love with a Terrelian girl named Jara,
the daughter of an ambassador to Vulcan. Tuvok was willing to
violate every tenet of Vulcan philosophy simply to be near her;
unfortunately, Jara did not return Tuvok's feelings, and Tuvok
chose to leave her. He later spent several months in isolation
studying with a Vulcan master, where he learned to subdue his
emotions.
As the supervisor of Renovation Team
Nova, he was ordered to seal a subspace sinkhole which had
claimed a number of ships.
This proved a problem for the crew of the USS Voyager, who were
attempting to retrieve Tuvok, Tom Paris, and The Doctor after
their shuttlecraft was pulled into the sinkhole. Yost was
unwilling to adjust his schedule for their rescue attempt and
even began to seal the rift early, though Voyager was able to
rescue their people in time.

SPECIES: n/aNoss was encountered by
Tuvok and Tom Paris after they crashed on an uncharted planet in
2375. She found their shuttle, and pulled a weapon and stole
their medical kit. Noss was attacked by reptilian-looking
aliens, but Tuvok saved her. Noss led them to her ship, which
had a working force field but no working engines. Noss told them
that she lived there for fourteen seasons, and has never seen a
ship escape the gravity well. She helped them survive on the
hostile planet by teaching them how to hunt and providing them
with shelter.
She became romantic toward Tuvok. After he was hurt, she nursed
him back to health and kissed him, only to be rebuffed by him.
She attempted to leave them, but Paris stopped her.
After USS Voyager rescued Tuvok and Paris, Noss was returned to
her home planet, but not before Tuvok performed a mind meld on
Noss to reveal his emotions.
